In a few weekends we will be getting our tree. Year after year Hubby and I go back and forth o what kind of tree to get. Any suggestions? I love the Nobles, but they are so spendy! Also, where do y'all go to get your trees? I would love to find a place that doesn't gouge the Christmas budget too much.
Our first tree here we found the perfect tree, cut it down and when we got up there to pay for it they asked for $60! I couldn't believe it. Where I grew up they were $25 up to 6 feet. Then last year we found a very reasonably priced place, but I swear it resembled a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.
Anyways, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am so with you on the outrageous prices of trees. Dave's all about buying a fake tree. I just can't do it. I love the smell of a fresh cut xmas tree.
We usually go to some u-cut lots off of south Liberty and typically come away with two trees for around $60: one tall noble for the upstairs and one small douglas for the girls to decorate downstairs.
Although, I have to say that last year we never found the time to get a tree so we didn't have one.....and it was so nice! No needles and no unwelcomed spiders! We're debating on whether or not to get one this year! We'll see.....
60 bucks is nothing where I'm from. Seriously. That'll get a you a small one that's part brown and has holes.
We purchased an artificial tree our first Christmas we were married that's amazing and cost us about the same as if we were to have purchased a nice Christmas tree.
Fake. We got ours for $25 dollars after Christmas-normally $175. I refuse to pay that much every year for a real tree, plus no needles to clean up or water to give it.
The past several years we have gone up to the mountains to cut one down, and even though we did cut one down from the mountains again this year, long story short, we bought a tree at a tree farm today.
We went to Tuckers Tree Farm. We just followed Liberty south and saw the sign and turned in. The farm has grands and nobles (the prettiest kind) and they sell for $35 under 7', and $45 for 7' and above. Plus, we got apple cider AND a candy cane. Whee.
We'll never do a fake tree. We're way too Christmas crazy around here!

adam and i found this great place last year! i think we spent like 35 on a 6 ft tree! it was a u-cut but that was fun. the kids loved seeing dad chop down the tree, then we got free cocoa and cider and candy canes and the kids got coloring sheets plus they had a really cute nativity scene set up. i really liked the place we went last year plus the people were so kind! i like going places where your actually acknowledged and enjoyed as a customer. anywasy as soon as i remember what the name of the place is i'll let ya know!
